Linda Pirruccello 

Linda Pirruccello is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Chico State, and is passionate about participating in service in all areas of her life. Under her leadership a community-based partnership was formed called Ridge Teen Outreach Community Coalition. This project developed and implemented an innovative suicide prevention project targeted to eliminate teen suicide. As the faculty advisor for Chico State’s chapter of the California Nurses’ Student Association she has guided students to provide ongoing health and first-aid information/kits to local homeless youth. She is also involved in local community hospital flu clinics and B/P screening events by coordinating nursing students to participate. 

Linda’s on-going service efforts continue for a peer mentoring program at Chico State to assist students to succeed in the nursing program. Senior students are paired with incoming freshman for support, friendship, and semester tips. Students love it! Linda understands the importance of service to the nursing profession. She mentors new members for KO and coordinates paired mentoring with minority students to RN community ethnic leaders. Recently she became a Nominating Committee member for National Association of Hispanic Nurses.
